I think that if money wasn’t an issue and all my financial worries disappeared overnight, the first thing I would do after making sure my daughters are good is to open my own bookstore.
I don’t mean a virtual one but an actual one.
It would be open from dawn until dusk every day, sell only books by independent authors and host a range of genres, and visitors would stay a while, meet other readers and authors, enjoy their purchases with a cup of coffee, and a slice of cake.
It would have areas where children can immerse themselves in stories that spark imagination and curiosity.
It would be filled with comfy seats, beanbags, and large cushions where visitors could make themselves at home.
Somewhere people love and want to congregate, where people return feelings about the books they’ve read.
And when I shuffle off this mortal coil, I want it to live on and make a difference to the generations that come after me.
