The Most Random Therapy Cat Visit Ever

Normally when I visit the big hospital, it’s pretty routine. I have specific areas that I visit. And I did go to those. But it turned out to be pretty random!
The afternoon began at the Cancer Center, where one younger woman was getting an infusion. Usually the patients there are older middle aged or even seniors, but she was probably in her 30s. While I hung out on the pillow on her lap, another woman showed up who looked a lot like her! My human asked if they were sisters, but they were friends. Longtime friends from high school, in fact!
Then we headed to Pediatrics, and on the way, a young woman with a walker saw us and started chatting. She wanted to know all about me and the therapy pet program. My human really enjoyed explaining it all to her.
Then, when the elevator doors to Pediatrics opened, a big group of staff in scrubs came out! And they were all so happy to see me! So I visited with them for a little while before going to Peds. Unfortunately, the only patient there was an infant who was in isolation. So my human stopped by the Residents Workroom, and they were overjoyed to have some kitty company.
After a brief stop at Labor and Delivery, we headed for Behavioral Medicine. This visit is required on Thursdays, whereas we just cover as much of the other wings as we can. I had a full activity room of patients this time — a woman in a wheelchair, a pretty but sad looking girl who cheered up a little during the visit, a very talkative guy who liked me a lot, and a middle-aged woman who couldn’t stop petting me. It was a nice visit.
Except for Behavioral Medicine, nothing about this visit was all that routine!
