I'm incredibly excited about this. I want to read a slave who is a snarky anti-hero. Brilliant idea IsaK. (I wanna buy a copy though: I don't want authors to feel they have to give their work away.)

I avoid slave fic because the sub/slave characters seem so boring and sheep-like to me. Give me a snarky slave any day. I'm looking forward to this challenge Isa!
Interesting. I agree that it always seemed like a head smacking moment when the owner had his tender wittle feelings hurt because the slave didn't immediately return his feelings. Really?Look forward to it!

Cheryl gave me a lot of very useful feedback when I was writing the first draft. When I decided to self publish I offered to give her a cut in exchange for her services and she was like "Bah! Your money's no good here!!" XD XD XD I feel a bit like Jimmy Fallon in that bank commercial, who doesn't like free?!?!
I'm really excited to see what everyone thinks, but you especially after your really interesting reviews of Rachel Haimowitz's stuff :D Every time I see one I get all "Ooo Ooo DO ME NEXT! DO ME NEXT!!" *lol*
Slave/master and dubcon stories aren't really my thing, but I commend you for standing up for your work. :)
This sounds intriguing. Of course I never have opinions, but most slave fic sucks hind tit. I'm in.....once I get through all the instructions up there.
"So rest assured there is no gratuitous violence, torture, or graphic abuse. There is no pedophilia, bestiality, incest, water sports, necrophilia, fisting, etc, etc, etc, etc. "YOU'RE NO FUN... :)

I was going to do this post entirely in gifs and images of Michael Del Zotto ... but that seemed excessive :)

HAHAHAHAHA. It's just when you say you wrote something too controversial to publish in M/M Romance I feel like most people must assume you've written Hostel: The Sexy Edition

Ditto!
I don't know if I can join the Challenge, interesting as it sounds. I'm an impulse reader so I might not be able to get around reading during the time frame listed. Nonetheless, I wish you luck, Isa!

I'm not about to chase people around with a pitchfork screaming "READ MY BOOOOOOK!!!" *lol*
Hey Isa! Good on you :) I want to join the challenge but I'm not sure about my available time...I notice that you promise not to chase people around with a pitchfork screaming "READ MY BOOOOOOK!!!"; so on that positive note, count me in ;)
*Off to sign up*
I am in like flint. And just so I'm clear it's not about the free copy. In fact please feel free should I come up on a list to pass me by - I'll happily and willingly fork over dinero to buy it myself. I like what you are doing - and I support not compromising. Viva la revolución!The story sounds amazing and I am all in. This is my favorite genre!
You guys are all way too honest :D I would totally take a free book and then be like "Sucka! I review when I feel like it!" *lol*Anyway, the two week period is just to give people the opportunity to read the book before I do the blog tour, because the blog tour consists of essays surrounding the book's "controversial" issues. While I'm doing my best to keep these spoiler free ... some people (like myself) like to come into a book knowing as little as possible about it.
As much as I'd like GR to be flooded with reviews all at once, you're under absolutely no obligation to read and review during the official challenge period.
I'm buying it just to find out how you managed to create a "snarky, antihero slave." My understanding of sexual slavery is that the slave's reason for existing is to please the master, period. What I've never been able to understand is why does it always seem to please the master to have an automaton for a slave. Are there no masters out there who would be pleased by having someone with a personality for a slave?
The only book I've read that comes close to portraying this is The Violet and the Tom.
I very much look forward to reading Guttersnipe, and paying for it, so you feel compelled to continue writing original fiction for us originality-starved readers.
