Rimig's Reading/Watching List: August 2025

I've been adjusting to a new schedule recently, trying to balance it with getting as much writing done as I usually get per week. While I don't think there's much for me to say about it farther than that, it's still a very big change on my end of things.

But in other news, the progress on releasing my fourth book, The Spellbound Storm, has been coming along nicely! I don't have a set release date for it, but I hope to get it out before the end of the year!

What I'm Reading!

I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou: Angelou's first autobiography, detailing her life up to 1944 as she grew up in Stamps, Arkansas.

I've heard a lot of great things about this book, and a lot of inspiring things about its author. Can't wait to take a dive into my state's history!

My Jasper June by Laurel Snyder: Leah's life has been on the decline over the past year. But when she meets a new friend, Jasper, over the summer, she believes she's found an escape from her troubles. But as the girls get closer, the darker aspects of their lives become harder to ignore...

What I'm Watching!

America's Funniest Home Videos: A collection of humorous clips featuring wacky mishaps and/or pranks sent in for a cash prize.

Even though most of this show's clips aren't the funniest, I often get at least a couple of laughs with each episode, and it's got a lot of charm overall.

What I'm Playing!

Nothin'!

Well...nothing new that I can add here. I was going to include Axiom Verge, but I recently beat it.

Oh, and I'm planning on buying a Switch 2 soon.

Yeah, I've mentioned before how I was trying to finish some games before I bought it, but due to the price increase on Nintendo consoles, I want to get one before their newest console gets a price hike. I'll also be buying my games used or on sale, since I don't support their decision to make their games $80. Man, this market has been going downhill this year...

But I don't want to end this post on a downer note. Lemme tell you a joke I found online:

Why I Write: Because kidnapping people and forcing them to act out your interesting make-believe worlds is technically illegal.

Thanks for reading!
