Move of Spirit

Want to move into something better – a better job, house, or relationship with Jesus? Prepare by packing up the past and going after your destiny. God rewards pursuit!

In the early 1990s, I was preparing to leave on a mission trip to New Orleans. My wife dropped me off at the house of Pastor James “I feel God” Brown, a friend. When he came to the door, he hugged me and invited me in saying, “Please excuse our mess. My wife’s done lost her mind.”

I was seriously wondering what he was talking about until I saw the mess. Inside the house, everything was packed into boxes, ready for a big move. I’m talking everything – there were boxes from one end of the house to the other. “Where are you moving to?” I asked.

“We don’t know,” Pastor Brown said. “My wife has been praying for a new house in a better neighborhood, and last week, she got a word that it was all about to happen. So this week, she packed it all up and said, ‘God has a new house for me.’”

We both busted out laughing and began making proclamations for a better home in a nicer area of town. That was the last time I ever went to that house because not long after, her big upgrade came. God answered her prayer. I don’t know many people who would pack up before they knew where they were going, but Mrs. Brown did, and you know what? God loves that.

God loves it when you pursue Him. He loves it when you pursue upgrade and believe that His promises are real for you today. Are you in need of an upgrade? Ask. Pray. Pursue.

Which Wolf Do You Feed?

Jesus-driven thinking helps and heals. This is what the Bible has to say on the subject: For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. – Romans 8:6

The Cherokee nation knew it, too. Check out this spot-on tribal tale:

An old Cherokee chief was teaching his grandson about life. He told the boy, “A terrible fight is going on inside me. It is a fight between two wolves. One wolf is evil. He is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and self-doubt."

The old man continued: “The other wolf is good. He is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.” He then told the boy, “This same fight is going on inside you and inside every other person, too.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute, then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?” The wise old chief replied, “The one you feed.”

What wolf have you been feeding? Just know the wolf of evil thoughts will eventually devour you, and likely others as well. Thoughts become actions, and there is always collateral damage.

That’s not you! You can control your thought life and ensure the evil wolf starves to death.
et_pb_blurb"}">Move of Spirit

I was seriously wondering what he was talking about until I saw the mess. Inside the house, everything was packed into boxes, ready for a big move. I’m talking everything – there were boxes from one end of the house to the other. “Where are you moving to?” I asked.

“We don’t know,” Pastor Brown said. “My wife has been praying for a new house in a better neighborhood, and last week, she got a word that it was all about to happen. So this week, she packed it all up and said, ‘God has a new house for me.’”
