The Great "Hunger Games" Reset - Part I
Dystopia has long been a popular topic across the science fiction realm with hundreds of books, movies, TV series all attempting to plot, predict the collective demise of ‘humanity’ and the ‘earth’ upon which humanity lives. Some of the dystopian futures predicted are quite monstrous, while other dystopian futures seemed to have glimpsed with great prescience and detail what awaits in the not too distant future.
The dystopian media at the forefront of accurately predicting what was to come, some nearly 100 years ago, some but a few decades ago, and some within the last decade all appear to speak with startling clarity and a uniformed voice. Not only were their predictions accurate with regard to where humanity would be, collectively, but also what lay in store in a rather lockstep fashion. Their predictions fell into alignment on such topics as—totalitarianism, fascism, A.I., A.I. Cloud, Uploaded consciousness, mass impoverishment, global democide, etc.—which all currently unfold.
I will concentrate, for brevity, on just a few of these media. I’ve selected "1984", "Brave New World", "Transcendence", and "The Hunger Games", as they are near the top of the pack in regard to their prescience and reveal a ‘you are here’ or a ‘you will very soon be here’ perspective on the current world. I’ve left out "The Matrix" as it is extensively referred to in my book.
I thought to include the "Black Mirror" TV series, however, given the nature of its rather alarming ‘top of the class’ dystopian foresight and what appears, via its series, as spot on predictive programming, with a strong whiff of the "Twilight Zone", I will speak to "Black Mirror" in a separate article.
"1984" (George Orwell)
The book "1984" is as straightforward as a jackboot squeezing down on one’s neck. It represents abject totalitarianism, perpetual surveillance, unmitigated censorship, in this respect, towards a reduction of meaningful language to meaninglessness. Further, "1984" represents psychological and physical torture and manipulation, as if the current world’s MKULTRA techniques were running nonstop from sundown to sunup. Every citizens’ communication is being observed and stored and there are Thought Police everywhere. A ‘Telecreen’ is front and center in a citizen’s apartment, blasting continual propaganda, and it can never be turned off. The Telescreen also continually monitors everything the citizen does or says (see SmartTV). War is perpetual. Thoughts can be crimes. Love is forbidden. Freedom and freedom of speech are obsolete, defunct.
The Current ‘World’
Creeping totalitarianism sets ablaze the veiled and tattered pretenses of democracy, republicanism, freedom; eviscerates the Bill of Rights, the Constitution, and any and all laws once thought sacrosanct in the protection of we the people. Elections are nothing more than MKULTRA and Madison Ave. brainwashing/marketing campaigns to make the dementia-addled, the insane, the psychopathic, the horrifically unqualified candidates appear sane, respectable, democratic, and qualified. Post election the ‘winners’ are refitted with their dementia, insanity, psychopathy and all bets are off. You can forget those campaign promises, as their inverse will be closer to the truth (see Trump). Your every communication is being observed and stored and there are Thought Police and ‘Fact Checkers’ monitoring everywhere. A SmartTV is front and center in a citizen’s apartment/home, blasting continual propaganda, though for now, it is not a crime to turn it off. A SmartTV (and other ‘smart’ devices) continually monitors everything the citizen does or says in a citizen’s apartment/home whether it (they) is (are) on or off. Censorship is omnipresent in the mainstream media, social media, across government, and evermore aggressively across ‘alternative’ media. Search engines have been and continue to be scrubbed of any and all content, which offends or contradicts the status quo and what remains is ‘Newspeak’—controlled language of simplified grammar and limited vocabulary designed to limit a person's ability for critical thinking. War is perpetual. Thoughts can be crimes. Freedom and freedom of speech grow more obsolete, defunct, day by day. For now, love is not forbidden.

"The Hunger Games"’ nation of Panem is the inexorable result of vile, psychopathic, greed mongering oligarchs imposing a “You will own nothing and be happy” world-state. This while they have hoarded to themselves every possession of value, every home (those the people of Panem once owned outright), every technological gadget and advancement in The Capitol. And the people of Panem, collectively, live in an earlier, rougher epoch, bereft of technology, bereft of the ability to sustain their lives, to adequately feed themselves, to gain a foothold on progress, to develop. And when the people of Panem arose to throw off their crippling oppression and failed, their children have been sacrificed—filicided—ever since, in a most brutal contest wherein only one survives. Here the psychopathy, the debauchery, the pure evil, and even the abject fear of the oligarchs themselves is on full display.
The Current ‘World’
"The Hunger Games" is, in a way, the synthesis of the dystopian media presented here. It represents the win of the vile, the psychopathic, the greed-mongering Oligarchs and the destitution of the remaining masses in line with—“You will own nothing and be happy”. Are we, in the current age, the precursor to "The Hunger Games"? Are we soon to be separated into multiple 15-minute, highrise districts—concentration camps, ghettos? Districts where we are watched/tracked 24/7/365? Where we are locked out from our own homes, away from our loved ones, starved to death for failure to obey/comply (see Gaza)? What games will the current world fashion for the inevitable rebellions or what new wars will simply be created, with mandatory drafts, lowered age limits (see Ukraine) as a form of surreptitious filicide? It is fear, of course, that drove "The Hunger Games" oligarchs, it is fear which drives the various oligarchs here as well. It is the abject fear of the people, the masses waking up and realizing who and what they are and their power individually and collectively.
