Book Two
Quick informal announcement before the proper publicity machine kicks up.
Book two will be released in June 2026.
It's not a straight up sequel, so I hope people aren't disappointed, but I wanted to do something different, and useful.
I have received a lot of messages from readers saying book one has inspired them to prep for their own end, convince reluctant parents to do the same, helped them with grief, and also with their own fear of death. I wanted to hone in on that with more intentionality.
My working title whilst writing was Sort Your Life Out with life crossed through. The title that has appeared on all the sites offering pre-orders is Matters of Death and Life. That's not final yet, but what isn't subject to change is the substance.
The book is a series of stories, drawing from my experience as a funeral officer, but also as a fellow mortal, which act as death prep lessons. At the end of each section is an exercise. It's a fill out and keep complete guide to getting ready for death and ensuring you don't leave a mighty mess for the living. From funeral planning and wills to digital death and facing the fear.
Search Matters of Life and Death, Evie King and you will find pre-order links at all the usual places. You can also order through bookshop or request it at your local indie.
It is listed here on Goodreads so please go ahead and add it to your want to read list.
Thank you and see you in 2026!
