Apocalypsis: Book 1, DRAFT DONE!

Yes, it’s true.

I’ve finished the first draft of Apocalypsis: Book 1.

Right now it’s at 90,000 words (about 295 pages), but when I’m finished with my first edit (2 days of work), it’ll be more like 92,000.  So we’re looking at a final product of about 325 pages.  Yay!

And wow, did this book take me on a ride!  If you’ve read any of my posts about my writing process before, you know that I don’t really write my books – my characters do.  Sometimes … no often, they take me places I never considered.  This book is no different.

Gosh, I hope you love it.  It’s dark, it’s original, and it’s got action, and of course, humor too – all my books will have at least some of that.  Melding the humor with the dark matter was a challenge, but I think I pulled it off.

Looking forward to getting it up on Amazon for you!  Come on June 30th!!

xoxo Elle

Angie Cant wait! When is the next war of the fae coming?

message 2: by Elle (new)

Elle Casey It's actually a follow-on series called Clash of the Otherworlds that continues the War of the Fae series, and the first book comes out at the end of September. I have a 3-book series coming out during the summer called Apocalypsis first. :)

Hannah OMG! I did not realize how many words 90,000 really was! Congrats! I'm also writing my first debute novel called Star Crossed Lovers. Right now its at 33,357! I just started it seriously 2 weeks ago. On my computor it equals 76 pages, but according to your format it would seem that I have written a few more pages than that. More like a little over a hundred pages! I'm super psyched! Can you tell me how you format your books? I'm really curious, because I don't know why my page numbers are so low. Thanks so much!

Elle Casey I used Scrivener to write my books now (you can get a 30-day free trial) that will format it in any way you want. For Kindle, Nook, paperback, PDF, Word, anything!!! And it keeps word counts for you.

The pages of the book is dependent on many things, like size of book, font used, etc. So it's only an estimate until it's actually printed. :) Good luck to you!

Hannah Thanks so much! I love your stuff and I'm going to be using the money that I made from my collection book, Never Enough, to buy a few more kindle versions of your books! They are like candy, I cannot just have one! Keep writting books and I promise to keep reading them. Thanks for all the inspiration and unique tales. I also found out that my characters tend to express themselves in....more...crurse-a-ful ways. Keep up the fast, but fantastic work.

Angie So excited for this book! How much will it be?

message 10: by Elle (new)

Elle Casey How much as in price? $4.99 Words? 300

message 11: by Angie (new)

Angie Cool :) your books are always good prices. I read books in a day maybe two, so I hesitate on buying books over $10 cuz then my money would go way too fast!

Elle Casey I'm trying to keep them low during the summer but in the fall they may go up a tad. Just a dollar, not a lot. But I'm glad you find them a good value. :)
