My Music: SOMETIMES

This is a song I missed until now, it belongs much earlier in the chronology. I think it was recorded around April, 1972 in Kansas City, MO. In THIS post I told the story of my on and off relationship with Karen, seen above in the only image I have of her from a grainy 8mm film. I had followed her to Kansas City in 1971, changing art schools, but at that time she avoided me. When I returned in January, 1972, things were different, and we renewed our relationship. The lyrics are a poem written by Karen, I don’t know when, but probably before we met, that I put to music. We sang it together for this recording. The song: Sometimes
I don’t have the words in my notebooks, and the recording was not where I keep the others, I just rediscovered it. Even though it’s a bit rough and not balanced well voice to guitar or voice to voice, I thought it was worth including. That second time in Kansas City was the only time in my adult life when I wasn’t working. Instead, I lived on saved money for a few months, spent time with friends, did some painting, recorded music, and had a few adventures until my cash ran out and I had to come back to New Jersey and get a job. I remember it fondly. I broke things off with Karen then, and I don’t know what happened to her after that. I hope she had a good life.
