Geek of the Week: Pete T Edits and Fan Art
It’s time for a new Geek of the Week interview, this time with Pete of Pete T Edits and Fan Art. Pete has edited many of my cosplay pics over the years and continues to share his creative work on Instagram and Facebook at @peteteditsandfanart.

1) Give us an intro:My name is Pete, I come from Scotland. I am 46 years old and I am a dad to 3 kids, and I am probably the biggest kid of them all.
My geeky stuff is cosplay, going to comic cons, building my Star Wars Lego, and other Lego and reading comics.
I have also cosplayed Spiderman and Batman while doing Ziplines over Quarry, it was so much fun. The wife was embarrassed though, haha.
2) What is your favorite cosplay to edit? That is such a tough question, I have so many favourites. One of the first edits I have ever done was using the characters Harley Quinn, Zatanna when I started out. I love the characters black cat, Jinx, Slave Leia, Lady Vader but if I had to say my all time favourite, then I would say Jessica Rabbit. I loved the character growing up.
My all time one that I would love to do more with would be Xena, I loved the show growing up so I would like to play around doing some background edits with people as her.
3) Tell us a bit about your editing process. My process starts with me normally sending a message asking people if they would allow me to do background edits/Fanarts on their photos.
Once they have said yes, I ask how they would like me to get the photos via screenshot on their page or would they like to send over the original photo.
Part of my process and part of the initial message that is sent I allows say that I wont edit any photographer photos, their photos are the their vision on how they want that photo to look so I wouldn’t want to mess with that.
After all the messaging back and forth is done and I have a photo/photos I get to work using an app called “PicsArt”, I load the photo in. I adjust the sizing crop anything that isn’t needed (if I am using a screenshot). Then once I have done that I fit the photo to portrait (better fit for posting).
From there comes the longer part of the job, taking the person out of the photo they are in. The app itself has a remove background tab but sometimes this can be more hassle as it cuts out props the characters/ people may have. So I use the cutout tab to ensure everything is kept in.
From there is use free photo sites to get the backgrounds I would like to use, some of these sites are “Pixels”, “Pixabay” and Pexels.
I once I have the background, I put everything together, using the remove tool here and there to make sure there aren’t any ragged edges.
I normally add an HD filter at the end to give it a bit more of a crisp look. Then I stick the pages logo on the bottom left or right of the finished edit.
Then I send it back to the person who has allowed me to use their photo for an edit.
Once they have it I normally say they can share it whenever they want to, I normally have a few edits on the go so I don’t post it straight away.

4) How did you get started editing photos? Well, I started doing edits (and I won’t lie I couldn’t remember as I am old I went to check when the page was started). I started doing edits back in 2018, and these edits were of my wife’s cosplays, Zatanna and Harley (my actual page was called Petetphotography at that time). It wasn’t until later I started asking people if they would allow me to do edits.
The page celebrated it’s 4th year doing edits and Fanarts in April (I say 4 years as that’s when I started doing more people’s edits).
5) Where can people find your edits posted?People can find my edits posted on Instagram @peteteditsandfanart and on Facebook with the same name.
6) How can someone get a pic edited by you? It’s really simple all they need to do is drop me a DM over on Instagram @peteteditsandfanart.
7) What are your favorite fandoms?I love movies of all times, obviously the Marvel, DC movies etc.
I used to work in a cinema in the projection department so films were my life, I can honestly say I have worked my dream job.
I am a big fan of Ghost rider, Knight rider (I have actually met the Hoff and I have driven a Kitt replica)
Star Wars movies (I grew up with 4,5 and 6) I thought Rogue one was amazing though.
Harry Potter. (Even went to a con as Voldemort and the rest of the family were Mrs McGonagall, Harry, Hermione and Ron. It was a good time.
TV shows: Daredevil, Punisher, Penguin, The Mandalorian, The Mentalist, Star Wars Clone Wars

8) Do you, or have you cosplayed? My first ever cosplay was called Captain Kombat as it was a cross between Captain America and Scorpion from mortal Kombat.
I did Captain America.
I have cosplayed Dark Knight Batman, I normally cosplay this for my wife’s nursery open day. I missed it this year as I had a football tournament with my youngest son.
But my most favourite cosplay is my Ghost rider.
I have done three different versions of the character….
Agent of shield Ghostrider
Ghostrider- Nicholas Cage version
And last year I did a Ghost rider/Captain America Variant.
Each of the cosplays has a mask I made from Paintball mask, Anime hair, and LEDs.
I am working in another version at the moment which I am excited about, and hopefully have it ready for the next comic con.
9) Do you have a favorite convention you like to attend?I have attended a few conventions here in the UK, Manchester, Liverpool and Edinburgh. But I would love to attend one in London but my all time biggest bucket list convention would be San Diego.
10) What’s next?Well, I am always editing, so keep an eye out on the page for more absolutely fantastic people and Fanarts obviously. Get in touch via Instagram @peteteditsandfanart if you have a photo you would like me to work my magic on.
Big thank you to Pete for answering our geeky questions! If you would like to be featured as a Geek of the Week on GeekMamas.com, send an e-mail to candy@geekmamas.com for more info.
