Rimig's Reading/Watching List: July 2025

Since I've become more active on social media, my posts about my third book, The Destroyed Country, have been getting a lot of views! I hope it does better than my first two books.

As for my life, I mentioned in my review of The Tainted Ruins that my financial situation wasn't at its best, but it looks that that'll be improving in the future. I don't want to go into detail, but things are looking up, and over the next month, I want to get a lot of writing done, including the remaining work on my fourth book, The Spellbound Storm.

What I'm Reading!

The Destroyed Country by Josiah Smallwood: After being separated from his group, Prince Cephus the bull is captured and forced to return to his home to confront his family. Meanwhile, across the continent, Kenan the badger has secretly been working in a prison in the Capital of the Raccoon Empire, and his life takes a turn when an old friend of his shows up. The choices these two make, whether they know it or not, will decide the fate of their homes...

Gateway to the Stoics: Marcus Aurelius's Meditations, Epictetus's Enchiridion, and Selections from Seneca's Letters by various Stoic authors: A collection of the most well-known and impactful Stoic writings packaged together for the modern reader.

What I'm Watching!

Elio: After being mistaken for earth's ambassador, a young boy is swept up in various intergalactic conflicts from around the universe, including one concerning the father of one of his new extraterrestrial friends.

Cinema Therapy has said some really good things about this movie. The last time that happened was with Inside Out 2, which turned out to be my second favorite movie of 2024. So, it looks like I'll have to go see this one in theaters!

What I'm Playing!

Golden Sun: Three years after his home is raided, Isaac and his friends – a group of magic-wielding teenagers – set out to protect their world from a mysterious force, alchemy, that was sealed away long ago.

I want to get a Switch 2 sometime in the future, but before I do, I've got some games I haven't yet finished like this one, its sequel, Axiom Verge, and Metroid Prime 2 and 3. Once I've finished a fair few of them, I'll consider making my purchase!
