In 1975 CIA Director William Colby informed the Church Committee that the US Media was penetrated. Colby told the Church Committee that over 400 CIA agents were active in the US media in 1975 as a result of Operation Mockingbird. This, of course, was illegal. The 1948 Smith-Mundt Act forbade government agencies from directing propaganda campaigns within the United States. The Smith-Mundt Act was passed in Congress to ensure that United States citizens would not be subjected to the same type of brainwashing undertaken in World War II Germany.
Since 1975, however, the corporate-owned mainstream media has maintained a very close relationship to the CIA and other domestic spy agencies. A seasoned journalist, longtime reporter for the Washington Post, and one of two reporters who broke the Watergate scandal, Carl Bernstein, thought that the Church commission, in fact, covered much of the truth up. And in his 25,000 word article for Rolling Stone, “THE CIA AND THE MEDIA: How America’s Most Powerful News Media Worked Hand in Glove with the Central Intelligence Agency and Why the Church Committee Covered It Up”, Bernstein lets that truth be known.
“Among the chief executives who helped the CIA were William Paley of CBS, Henry Luce of Time, Arthur Sulzberger of the New York Times, Barry Bingham Sr. of the Louisville Courier-Journal, and James Copley of the Copley News Service. The leading TV networks, including ABC and NBC, and the wire services-AP, UPI, Reuters, along with Hearst Newspapers, Scripps Howard, Newsweek, the Miami Herald, and the Saturday Evening Post all had dealings with the spy agency. The CIA's most valuable associations were with the New York Times, CBS, and Time Inc”.
Despite the Church Committee’s findings and Bernstein’s revelations, CIA office memos released under the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA) and investigative reports by Alex Constantine and Michael Hasting (before his assassination) confirmed that CIA propaganda was, indeed, still directed at United States citizens.
In an article written by Alex Constantine entitled, “Tales from the Crypt: The Depraved Spies and Moguls of the CIA's Operation MOCKINGBIRD ” Constantine writes:
“Most consumers of the corporate media were - and are - unaware of the effect that the salting of public opinion has on their own beliefs. A network anchorman in time of national crisis is an instrument of psychological warfare in the MOCKINGBIRD media. He is a creature from the national security sectors chamber of horrors. For this reason consumers of the corporate press have reason to examine their basic beliefs about government and life in the parallel universe of these United States. In 1977, the Copely News Service admitted that it worked closely with the intelligence services—in fact, 23 employees were full-time employees of the Agency (Constantine, What Really Happened).”
Constantine goes on to state that one of the country’s most revered network anchors was an intelligence asset:
“No one ever turned a suspicious eye on Walter Cronkite, a former intelligence officer and in the immediate postwar period UPI’s Moscow correspondent. Cronkite was lured to CBS by Operation MOCKINGBIRD’s Phil Graham, according to Deborah Davis (Constantine, What Really Happened).”
To believe that the CIA and other intelligence agencies have ceased their propaganda campaigns directed at US citizens and have relinquished their control of the media, would be foolish in the extreme. What we witness today is the complete and absolute capture of mainstream media in all of its varied forms as well as deep connections and agents in the alternative media as well. The recent ‘COVID-19 pandemic’ puts paid to that.
The practice of shunning or banning or castigating the voices of those who oppose the status quo policies of—endless war, censorship, the stripping away of informed consent, vaccine mandates, etc—has, perhaps, never been more all encompassing. The East German Stasi, the Soviets, the era of McCarthyism in this respect, are all found wanting in relation to the totalitarianism now being casually implemented in the ‘democratic’ West. This while its well-funded divide and conquer regimes—‘Woke’, ‘Black Lives Matter’, ‘Antifa’, etc.—wreak havoc on any chance of a united front. This is, of course, their intention as all of the above listed regimes are funded by billionaires. Could it not be more clear?
Meanwhile the silence is, truly, deafening on those policies that would enrich, better the lives of the balance of the population, the 99%. Policies such as single-payer healthcare, a living wage, affordable housing, reimbursed childcare, a well maintained public commons, greatly decreased war spending, etc. On these topics, the tactic is simply to ignore all who would champion such policies and deny them access to any position of political/governmental or a media body that would give them voice.
Though the most important aspect of such overwhelming control is setting the narrative and its continuous propagation, in ‘lockstep’, across media and other connected assets. This was demonstrated in the ‘COVID-19 pandemic’ wherein the mainstream media, the ‘alternative media’, governments, academia, corporatocracy, private and public ‘healthcare’, pharmaceutical companies, and their ‘regulatory’ agencies, etc. all walked, preached, argued, cajoled in lockstep. This mass cult-programming on a scale the likes of which Joseph Goebbels would have been proud. For as Goebbels knew, any shred of truth that penetrates this echo chamber could well be fatal.

The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. Understand, the only parallels for this, again, are Nazi Germany’s Third Reich, the Soviet Union, East Germany’s Stasi, and US McCarthyism, though they all pale in comparison.
Thus the immediate censoring, removal of media, de-platforming, shadow banning, etc. was of critical importance for the lie to be maintained. Further, an army of ‘fact checker’s was necessary to take down any and all whistleblowers, regarding ‘COVID-19’, many who would have been believed. These were not your average ‘conspiracy theorists’ (who more often than not tend to see truth well before others), these were whistleblowers, who had spent their entire adult, professional lives in the pharmaceutical industry or as researchers, doctors, professors of genetics, biology, microbiology, etc. They were the true professionals of this ‘COVID-19 pandemic’. And this army of ‘fact checkers’, who had not a fraction of the breadth or the knowledge or the experience were unleashed upon them with a kind of ignorant vitriol that was astonishing. The ‘fact checkers’ were, in turn, the starkest of amateurs, at best.
There are important ways of seeing through the ‘fact checkers’. For instance, who pays them, who do they work for, and do they ever ‘fact check’ the establishment’s side of things? For the great many who have never thought of doing this, now may be the time. I have heard it said that the ‘fact checkers’ emerged as the truth began to shine through. I do not doubt the accuracy of this statement for a single moment.
There are several key points to understand with regard to the media. The first of which is that telling the truth is not a concern of the media and its spokespeople/actors, who we call news people. There are far too many compilations of news people saying, in lockstep, the exact same thing. I’m certain that you’ve seen them. If not you may wish to pull one of the videos up, assuming that they have not all been scrubbed or banned. Who do you think is handing them their scripts?
Certainly the mainstream news media have become no more than an appendage of government and would more accurately be referred to as the Federal News Media Association (FNMA). It would be an understatement to say that what issues forth from the mainstream media is what government, the intelligence agencies, big business, etc. tell it to say. Anyone in this day and age who is still ‘informed’ by the mainstream media and its perpetual big lie is detached, entirely, from ‘reality’ itself. The mainstream media, FNMA, is the antithesis of the truth.
Today, as I seek to do even the most minimal research on a given individual and certainly if that individual has not surrendered to the mainstream narrative, most often they are not found. Instead what comes, though I’ve typed in a specific name with quotes about it, are the ‘fact checkers’. I see blistering critiques, ad hominem attacks, that seek to discredit the searched for person, before that person ever shows up! Sometimes if you look deeply into the search results you may find an alternative view of the mainstream’s dictum, but this has grown increasingly rare. There could be no clearer case of Goebbels’ above quote that “the truth is the greatest enemy of state”. This is a crystal clear indication of his statement.
As an example, when I searched for former Pfizer Executive Dr. Michael Yeadon, “an experienced life sciences R&D professional, with 32 years in commercial R&D”, I got ‘fact checkers’ Snopes, Reuters, Politifact Full Fact, Yahoo, etc. Here was a former Pfizer executive and insider aware not only of Pfizer’s structure, policies, etc. but who had developed drugs while in their employ for the some part of his 32 years in pharma.
