The writing is DONE!

An update on my book called “The World of Karel Čapek’s R.U.R.”

Short answer: THE WRITING IS DONE!!! (all 97000 words!)
Here’s the detail…

_Chapters on performances of R.U.R. in 31 countries are written… CHECK
_Acknowledgement Section is written… CHECK
_Preface is written… CHECK
_Introduction is written… CHECK
_A Brief Karel Čapek Biography and Some Notes on His Key Writings is written... CHECK
_Chapter on Early Fictional Mechanical Men and Artificial Humans is written... CHECK
_Illustrations Gathered and Captions written… CHECK
_Bibliography written for each Chapter… CHECK

“Clean-up” work still to do before I am in a position to submit the manuscript to McFarland Publishers by the Mid-August due date:

_Type in final revisions scribbled on printouts
_adapt things to the Chicago’s Notes and Bibliography system (gulp!)
_one last spelling and grammar check
_combine the chapters into one document
_re-arrange the endnotes
_merge the bibliographies
_tighten up chapter cross references
_double space everything
_place illos. on pages & construct List of Illustrations page
_decide on a cover
_build Table of Contents
_build Index

To be honest, I don’t even know what some of these tasks will take or even what order I should tackle them. But I’ve got 6 or 7 weeks to figure it all out.
