When Your House is Built on Sand

The Gospel of Matthew includes a teaching of Jesus warning those to follow him to place their life on a firm foundation: to follow his instructions and to walk in his ways. Jesus likens those who do so to "a man who built his house upon a rock." They will weather the storm regardless of what life throws at them.

In contrast, is the foolish man who "built his house on the sand." Life happens to everyone, but for the foolish "the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat again...
