When we have seen the reasoning in all meaningful thoughts and actions, we have an example of what philosophy can bring to logical argumentation. In addition, philosophical thoughts are often woven into captivating stories, enriching them with layers of meaning and prompting reflection on fundamental aspects of human existence. Philosophical Underpinnings in Literature: Novels often convey a philosophy of life, whether explicitly or implicitly. Some works of fiction, though designed as entertainment, imply a desirable and ordered existence. Realistic fiction may highlight the absence of justice in life, presenting a pessimistic view. Some novelists explore life's mysteries, portraying wrong and injustice as elements within an inscrutable divine plan.
Literature is a form of human expression, but not everything expressed in words is counted as literature. Writings that are primarily informative, such as technical, scholarly, or journalistic works, are generally excluded from the realm of literature. However, certain forms of writing, like lyric poems, elegies, epics, dramas, narratives, and expository verses, are universally regarded as literature if they possess artistic merit. The ingredients in “PHILOSOPHY” enable people to discover truth, uncover logic behind things, and understand and harmonize human society.
The Role of Nonfictional Prose: Nonfictional prose plays a significant role in conveying ideas within literature. Many writers maintain the tradition of addressing abstract or moral themes with clarity and simplicity. Doctrinal writing, which expounds innermost convictions, constitutes a considerable portion of the writings of philosophers and poets.
Philosophical Systems and Literary Expression: A few philosophers have attained greatness by developing coherent, comprehensive systems that seek to explain the world and humanity. These philosophical systems, conceived by imaginative thinkers, can be compared to epic poems. In the 20th century, the sciences replaced the all-encompassing philosophical systems of the past. Some personal documents, such as autobiographies, diaries, memoirs, and letters, rank among the world’s greatest literature. Some examples of this biographical literature were written with posterity in mind, others with no thought of their being read by anyone but the writer. Some are in a highly polished literary style; others, couched in a privately evolved language, win their standing as literature because of their cogency, insight, depth, and scope.
