But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: “We ought to obey God rather than men.” Acts 5:29 NKJV

Grace for Miracles

Several years ago, a man named James King woke up on a Wednesday morning with a word and a mission. That word? “God is going to help me find that little girl today.”

The girl was Nadia Bloom, an autistic child who had gone missing without a trace four days earlier near an alligator infested swamp. Police and rescue workers had given up hope of finding the child alive, saying they needed a miracle.

They got one that Wednesday afternoon. James King dialed 911 and said, “I’ve found the missing girl, Nadia.” The chief of police said, “If I never believed in miracles before, I do now.”

The details of the “Miracle in the Swamp” were broadcast worldwide, including King saying, “God led me to her. He told me to recite Proverbs three and call out her name.”

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. – Proverb 3:5-6

“That’s what I did, and I found her,” he told the national media. Nadia’s dad added, “Let’s give the glory to God.”

I know another King who searches for and finds lost people. This King is also a miracle worker willing to go where nobody else will to rescue the hurting and save the lost. This king is actually the King of Kings, and I know Him personally.

In whatever swamp you find yourself sinking in this week, call out to the King who can save and redeem. He wants to pull you out of the mire and clean off the grime, setting you on the correct path.

Which Wolf Do You Feed?

Jesus-driven thinking helps and heals. This is what the Bible has to say on the subject: For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. – Romans 8:6

The Cherokee nation knew it, too. Check out this spot-on tribal tale:

An old Cherokee chief was teaching his grandson about life. He told the boy, “A terrible fight is going on inside me. It is a fight between two wolves. One wolf is evil. He is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and self-doubt."

The old man continued: “The other wolf is good. He is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.” He then told the boy, “This same fight is going on inside you and inside every other person, too.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute, then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?” The wise old chief replied, “The one you feed.”

What wolf have you been feeding? Just know the wolf of evil thoughts will eventually devour you, and likely others as well. Thoughts become actions, and there is always collateral damage.

That’s not you! You can control your thought life and ensure the evil wolf starves to death.
et_pb_blurb"}">Grace for Miracles

My heart is filled with gratitude for all the “blessings” in my life. I see them as miracles because they came down to me from my Father of Light. The praises in my soul are my gift that I release back to Him. Praise God!
