Film Review
This final episode mainly covers Irangate, a scandalous Reagan administration program (1981-86) that secretly sold weapons to a sworn US enemy (Iran) to fund the Contra war against Nicaragua; the relentless Hezbollah attacks on Israeli occupiers that forced the IDF to withdraw from Lebanon in 2000; Israel’s more recent attacks on Iran’s nuclear program; and their role (with the CIA) in creating Daesh (ISIS) to undermine Arabic sovereignty and unity in the Middle East.
Yaakov Nimrodi, the Israeli arms broker who provided the 45,000 Uzis the US sold Iran, was a long time Mossad agent Yaakov Nimrodi stationed mainly in Iran. His son Ofer was born in Iran.
Concerned about the risk of Iran developing nuclear weapons, since 2000, Israel has assassinated five Iranian nuclear scientists. It also tried to infect Iran’s nuclear power plant with Stuxnet malware. According to Edward Snowden, the Mossad and US intelligence jointly developed Stuxnet. Fortunately Iranian security specialists managed to isolate and destroy it before it infected Iran’s nuclear power plant.
The filmmakers also note the Mossad and CIA role in creating Daesh. They find it significant that Daesh terrorists have never once attacked Israeli forces, also that injured Daesh members seek treatment in Israelli hospitals if they become injured.
