Day 35 of the daily prompts:

Tart

The sweet, bitter smell of freshly jammed cherries filled the kitchen. It made her think of her grandmother and how they baked her famous cherry tart every summer. She had awakened today, feeling oddly nostalgic, remembering her childhood summers at her grandmother’s cottage and her cherry tarts. She had to make one. She wanted just for a moment to be that kid again and feel as if summers were endless and the future held all the possibilities.
