Trattle Howe

On Blakey Ridge about 400m (¼ of a mile) to the south of Blakey Junction is an old sandstone quarry whose northern edge is the ‘Site of’ a bronze age round barrow, named Trattle Howe on historical OS maps. The 1857 OS map shows the barrow still all in one piece to the immediate north and still separate from the quarry.
