Processes of innovative problem-solving:
-Preparation: The thinker assembles and explores resources, making preliminary decisions about their value in solving the problem.
-Alternatives: The individual considers possibilities and shifts from one to another freely, without rigid, rational, or logical constraints.
-Premium: Resources fall into place, and a premium decision is reached about the result or solution.
-Refinement or Polishing: the process of making relatively minor modifications in committing ideas to final form.
Qualities of creative individuals include fluency, flexibility, and originality. Creative thinking uses intrinsic resources to produce tangible results. Organizations should encourage individual expression and tolerate unorthodox thinking in order to foster the development of creativity and harness innovation.
