The woman left her water jar beside the well and ran back to the village, telling everyone, – John 4:28 NLT
Time to See the Good
The first time we see goodness in the Bible is in the creation account. At the end of each day, in the midst of darkness and chaos, God said, “It is good!”

While everything was messy, unfinished, and in a state of deformed transition – while nothing was as it should be and everything was half-formed, God declared His goodness right there on the spot! …and God saw that it was good. – Genesis 1:25

The Lord waged war on disorder, darkness, and chaos by proclaiming and demonstrating His goodness. This is how He changes the atmosphere. He introduces goodness. We should do the same.

And we know that for those who love God, all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose. – Romans 8:28

Since we love God, we are not afraid of the mess. The mess actually becomes employed by the goodness of God. In this verse, the Bible says our love for God qualifies us to see all things work together for good! It is His ongoing work in and for us to experience goodness.

Know this – there is a lot of warfare involved in confronting darkness, and you will not be in clean, pristine, safe environments. You will be in prisons sharing the Gospel, brothels freeing little girls from slavery, ghettos feeding the poor, and trash dumps bringing clothing, water, and hope to the hopeless.

That sounds pretty good to me! What about you?

Which Wolf Do You Feed?
Jesus-driven thinking helps and heals. This is what the Bible has to say on the subject: For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. – Romans 8:6
The Cherokee nation knew it, too. Check out this spot-on tribal tale:
An old Cherokee chief was teaching his grandson about life. He told the boy, “A terrible fight is going on inside me. It is a fight between two wolves. One wolf is evil. He is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and self-doubt."
The old man continued: “The other wolf is good. He is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.” He then told the boy, “This same fight is going on inside you and inside every other person, too.”
The grandson thought about it for a minute, then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?” The wise old chief replied, “The one you feed.”
What wolf have you been feeding? Just know the wolf of evil thoughts will eventually devour you, and likely others as well. Thoughts become actions, and there is always collateral damage.
That’s not you! You can control your thought life and ensure the evil wolf starves to death.
et_pb_blurb"}">Time to See the Good The first time we see goodness in the Bible is in the creation account. God is declaring His goodness in the midst of my chaos. I could stand in the gateway of hell knowing the enemy will not prevail, and light will always overcome the darkness! I have seen miracles, signs, and wonders in my life, and I know the Lord is powerful at overcoming darkness.
