Pope Francis dies on Easter Monday. For a sense of what Francis embodied and meant, I recommend Jonathan Rauch's Cross Purposes: Christianity's Broken Bargain with Democracy.  I'm in the midst of listening to Rauch on Russ Roberts' Econtalk podcast, and I think his case is sound, caring, brilliant, and timely.
