2025 – Week 16

Monday began with annoyance. I had to email my boss in the hopes that something ridiculous could stop. I also did some laundry and there was a dude in the room happily whistling away. I didn’t know there were real morning people like that. I was still feeling a bit crappy and was likely to for a long time as it can take up to two years to heal from gluten when you can’t eat it. I’m sure this didn’t help my mood. I was glad when the guy left the room 😂

The unfortunate thing is that people don’t show symptoms of deficiency until after the body has had to use up its stores, so it’ll take time to get back to normal. I am feeling a bit better each day though and I was eventually able to do roller derby and iaido when I went through this before, so I’ll be OK by the time softball is here. My sports after recovery has already improved drastically. I was only mildly sore after karate last week. Last softball season, I was very sore for days. Sometimes I was still sore by the following game day. I’m looking forward to being able to be more active.

One interesting thing I’m finding after eating now is that I feel relief. Like symptoms of anxiety and such are all reducing. My guts already feel a lot better. The two most annoying symptoms are lightheadedness/dizziness and detachment has me feeling like I’m just slightly out of step with the world. The colour is slowly returning to my face, so that’s a good sign.

At karate, I felt too dizzy, so I took notes. They probably thought that was odd, but it was all I could do. Other exercise was pretty much walking and I tried to practice the first kihon kata for karate.

I didn’t get much done on my goals this week. Everything was like climbing a mountain. Hopefully next week goes better. I got some dishes and laundry done. I’m not caught up, but it’s a start.

I went to a burlesque show, but didn’t get all the way through it. I was too fatigued. I also went to a friend’s birthday party for a couple of hours. I slept for much of Sunday. Otherwise, I mostly rewatched Buffy the Vampire Slayer because it’s all I had the energy to do.

Goal Setting and Tracking

I didn’t really make goals last week or the week before because I was too sick to deal with them. I’m feeling better enough to have some goals though it will be a lighter week as I rest and recover from the gluten. If I have some extra time and energy, I hope to wash the walls in the kitchen as well. I actually have a fairly long to-do list that I wrote up while I couldn’t do much else and felt overwhelmed, so I’ll probably tackle some of those items too.

Arts and Crafts: Finish the second vest panel.👌 Decluttering and Minimalism: Clear the entrance. ✅Catch up on chores.👌DIY and Projects: Finish sanding.❎Gaming and Videos: Get through summer in Stardew Valley.✅General and Miscellaneous: Start the next item for my volunteer position.❎Health and Fitness: Pick up the karate uniform I ordered last week.✅Music and Songwriting: Practice the set list for the queer jam.❎Reading and Writing: Finish reading Catching Feelings.✅ Edit Chapter 11 in Sparker.❎
