PlayStation 5 Missing Controller: Problem Solved

I ordered a PlayStation 5 off Amazon, and it was missing the controller! Or was it? After a bit of Googling and seeing several other people post this exact same problem, I also found the solution.

When my PlayStation 5 box arrived from Amazon, it was a little beat up, and the seal was broken on the package, so it looked like it had been already been opened and returned.

I opened it up to check and could not located the controller and cords, so immediately suspected somebody had gotten it, kept the controller and returned it. I see that kind of stuff posted online all the time.

I immediately hopped on Amazon to complain and set up my return.

Then later, I started thinking about it and decided to Google the problem and see if this happens often.

Apparently, yes it does. And that’s because the PS5 controller is hard to locate!

I ended up cancelling my return and locating the missing controller thanks to a thread on Reddit where several others thought they were missing it as well.

Surprise! The PS5 controller is in a box at the bottom of the box. It’s white and totally looks like the bottom of the box. It is part of the box and doesn’t open or fall out when you shake everything out of the box.

After all the hell I gave the Amazon customer service guy, I felt a bit silly for not thoroughly checking the entire box. I’m just so used to this kind of stuff happening with Amazon orders, and the box was already opened, so I jumped to the worst conclusion. My bad.

So, if you think you are missing the controller, check again! It’s probably just hiding from you.
