Monthly Reading Wrap-Up: March 2025

Hello everyone,

I have been reading SO MUCH LATELY! I'm not sure if this is a good or bad thing, but I am definitely dedicated. Unfortunately, I know my reading is going to slow down because it is becoming the end of the school year. So many activities are going on to the point I am extremely busy! Some things include two musical productions, my eighth grade's graduation, multiple field trips, and end of year activities.

I am also at a place where mentally I am not okay, but that is WHY I read so many books for March. They were my escape. I hope that's not sharing too much. Enjoy!

Prequel to Hunger Games Books

5 stars

I am SHOCKED by how much I loved this book. I liked it more than the original Hunger Games books. It was interesting to see Snow came to be. I have managed to skip all movie spoilers, but I cannot wait to finally watch it!

4 stars

I liked this book, but it took a bit for me to be interested in this book. My mind kept having predictions and I was proven right in the end. However, I did not like the ending with the girl. No spoilers from me though!

4.5 stars

I wanted to read this for a while now. I received it as a Christmas present and absolutely loved it. It kept trying to foreshadow the ending, but I felt like that was unnecessary. The storytelling was intriguing enough.
February 5th - March 9th The Selection
Kiera Cass

Book 1 of 5

4.5

The premise was always interested to me. However, I didn't like the beginning. After we got to America being in the selection, it was all uphill. I loved reading about it and I'm curious as to what the rebels are looking for.

Julie Murphy & Sierra Simone

I know that it's not the holiday season anymore, but that is when I started this book! Overall, it was too graphic for me. I liked the body positivity of it though.

Book 1 of 3

3 stars

It took me a minute to get interested in this book. I felt like it was trying too hard to be mysterious. However, I DID NOT PREDICT THAT ENDING! I will be reading the other two as well.
February 6th - March 15th Before the Coffee Gets Cold
Toshikazu Kawaguchi

5 stars

Book 1 of 4

Some of the wording is a bit off due to translations. However, this book was good. I only became confused on a couple of names, but I loved how each story intertwined with everyone else's. Cannot wait to read the others! Picture March 9th - 16th Picture Yellow Brick War

Book 3 of 4

4 stars

A twist on the famous Wizard of Oz. This time, they're back at Amy Gumm's high school which is a thrilling change of pace for the story. March 14th - 27th Lore
Alexandra Bracken

DNF

I borrowed this from the library. This book dives into a story about Greek mythology. Unfortunately, I had to keep looking up the mythology which would take me out of the book. Picture March 11th - March 30th Picture The Testaments
Margaret Atwood

Book 2 of 2

5 stars

At first confusing, three tails are told simultaneously until each character meets up. I loved the conclusion and the downfall of this book.
