Book 2
Alright Everyone,
I might be premature in putting this out there, but I feel like I want to give you all an update on how Book 2 in the Cobbogoth series is coming. So far it's coming along much better than I expected. After having spent 5 years writing the first book, that's not really saying much. But, I suppose Cobbogoth was much more about learning how to write a book, and now that I've got that under my belt, things are moving along a lot faster and smoother than I anticipated.
That being said, KinStone Publishing is still planning on a late 2013 release, because all of the design work and everything still has to happen, which takes time. But, things are looking good otherwise.
I guess I'm mostly relieved, because I wasn't sure how quickly I was going to be able to write Book 2 on account of the fact that I've never written a second book in a series. However, what I'm finding is that part of the reason Cobbogoth took so long to write, is because I had to make my world fit in our world and with our world's rules in order to make it believable. Now that I'm in New Cobbogoth, I get to make up the rules. That's very liberating.
Unfortunately, hiccups can still happen along the way. For instance, I could get finished writing this first draft and my good friends (who know that I love them enough that they can tell me the truth) might inform me that what I thought was a work of genius when I was the only person reading it, is, in fact, complete rubbish. That would probably set me back a bit. But since I run everything by my husband--who bores easily when I read to him and so far has been pretty excited about what I've been reading him--I think we're in good shape.
Seriously though, I can't wait to introduce you all to the world of New Cobbogoth! Once I've completed the first draft, I'm fairly certain I can reveal Book 2's title to you all, which will thrill me to no end.
That said, what are all you aspiring writers working on right now? Post a link to your blog and I'd love to come check it out. It'll give me something to look forward to during my writing breaks! :)
