Dear Mona, thank you for this.  I find it fascinating that sometimes a bleak and haunting story can be just what one needs when the real news is bad.  We’ve always needed stories to escape into, and to help us make sense of things; and we always will.  Your capacity for feeling strongly about a book does you proud.
