2025 – Week 10

I’m late on this due to being out of town, but March’s musical muse is Ludwig Van Beethoven, who happens to be my favourite composer.

I worked on my vest and my embroidery in between naps this week. Eventually, I had to stop crafting due to pain in my hands from wringing wash cloths out. The pain persisted for several days.

Week 10 began with me getting some things for Dad’s birthday. Next, I came down with the bug that he and my middle brother had and I decided to stay in my room to hopefully avoid giving it to the eldest brother who just had surgery. It didn’t hit me as hard as it did dad, but I didn’t want my other brother to get it, have a bad go, and possibly rip his sutures. Middle brother brought over some slightly lighter compression socks, so dad wouldn’t get a hernia with the damned things. By the time I left on Friday, it looked like he would soon have some home care.

On the weekend I felt so much gratitude for the friends who have been there for me through all of the absolute madness that has been my life recently. Thank you all so much for getting me through this period. I’m so thankful my life isn’t as it could have been had I never moved to Ottawa.

Leaving meant returning to the kitchen renovation, but I decided I would take a couple of days to recover from the trip. I was eager to get the sanding and mudding done as I wanted to get the room painted, but my hands were too sore. I also had something to return to the store in favour of a different set of products after chatting with friends. I had planned to go to their dojo, but got sick the day before that was supposed to happen. I took that day off of work to rest. That’s something I rarely do. Luckily for me, almost all of my 2025-2026 preparatory work is done and I’ll be able to have a good vacation at the end of the month. A staycation, but I’ll be able to actually enjoy the time when I’m not working on the kitchen.

My fitness plans going forward involve walking, tap dance, yoga, and the challenges I’m already doing. I missed Monday’s given the errands and then illness. I was able to do Wednesday’s challenge. On Friday, I happily returned to Ottawa and decided that I could do both Monday’s challenge and Friday’s since one is abs and the other is squats. I also walked around the store at the halfway point of my trip to hopefully get a kink out of my lower back.

This week I watched some Severance. What a mindfuck that show is. The concept is interesting and the cinematography is excellent. The acting is also well done.

I continued reading Catching Feelings. I didn’t get that far into it because everything was a lot.
