Write Your Novel NTR WiP2

Write Your Novel NTR WiP2

A full house. Thanks to the writers who attended our Write Your Novel course yesterday at New Theatre Royal in Portsmouth Bookfest, the first of 2025’s WiP2 workshops.

The exercises were very good.

It was an exciting launch for our new series of workshops, which will be delivered not just by me but by a team of wonderful writer-facilitators with great experience in coaxing the best out of participants. Characters were developed, from free writing and photograph prompts. We chose objects with which to ruin our characters’ inner lives. And we wrote opening paragraphs for our books, on the spur of the moment. These are all ways to take the pressure off that daunting and elusive first draft – a zero draft, as it were.

Great to have time to explore areas in depth.

Enjoyed meeting other writers.

I look forward to hearing how this group gets on with their writing. And I’ll see more of you for next week’s Writing for Procrastinators courses, and the following week’s Writing Retreat at Central Library, the final event of 2025 Portsmouth Bookfest.
