What is Authentic Freedom?

The more I think about it, the more I realize that authentic freedom has very little to do with free will choosing, obedience to authority, being properly informed, or rational/logical thinking. 

A man experiences authentic freedom when his thoughts and acts are thoughts and acts of love.

Not the correct choice between love and non-love; not submission to some logical argument in favor of love (as if such could exist); not the desire to feel reassured or flee into fantasy. 

Authentic freedom exists only in thoughts and acts of love. 

Perhaps that helps to explain why nothing tortures and burdens man more.
