Senator Robert Taft was son of President/Chief Justice of the United States William Howard Taft. He was Known as “Mr. Republican,” and was leader of the post-WWI and WWII non-interventionist populist foreign and domestic policy opposition to FDR’s New Deal and Harry Truman’s Fair Deal.
