Book Review: Vince Flynn Capture or Kill by Don Bentley

Published in 2024. Thriller. In April 2011, Mitch Rapp is scheduled to meet with an Iranian informant who promises to give him vital information on the Quds Force weapons capabilities. The meeting is intercepted when an Iranian Colonel shows up to talk to Mitch unexpectedly. In his undercover persona, Mitch receives valuable information about a planned ambush of American forces, so he skips his meeting with his informant to get the tip to American forces immediately. It saves most of the force, but a Ranger is captured, forcing Mitch to go after him. After a harrowing rescue effort, Mitch is called upon for another mission: to confirm the resident of the house in Abbottabad, Pakistan is Osama Bin Laden.

This is a fictionalized version of the assassination, but it sounds feasible, and just as dramatic. There was so much going on in this book I couldn’t read it very fast. There were several parallel plot lines going on that intersected along the way. Also, there were tons of acronyms, most of which I couldn’t remember. Still, I was intrigued by the story and how it all came together. Mitch Rapp fans will recognize many of the familiar characters from previous books as the saga continues.
