Prologue to untitled WIP (the first non-YA Dorathan novel)

So I'd mentioned that I was starting on the next Dorathan novel and that Chael (I didn't say which one) was going to be in it.  I got a few happy remarks.  I then let slip that this novel was not going to be YA.  I got more than a few cheers. :D I released this prologue on my Facebook page as a note, but thought I'd put it up here as well for those of you who are Facebookers. :)  I have no idea
