A book that pleasantly surprised you? A Knight to Remember by Cynthia Luhrs. I randomly found this book on Kindle Unlimited and couldn’t put it down!
Coffee, tea, or cacao? Coffee! I could drink it all day.
What is your work schedule like when you’re writing? I either stay at home or go to my favorite coffee shop and spent at least two-three hours writing/editing.
When did you write your first book and how old were you? I started writing my book series in 2016 (I was 27) but didn’t publish the first book until March 2024.
What do you like to do when you’re not writing? I love being with my family, friends, and my standard poodle named Moose. I live in the foothills of North Carolina and spend a lot of time outside. I’m either walking on the nature trails, sitting by a campfire, or playing in the creek.
What does your family think of your writing? They are extrememly supportive and love my work. They are truly my biggest fans.
What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books? I had no idea how many different types of editors I would need. At first, I thought all editors were the same, but I found out real quick that wasn’t true.

Do you hear from your readers much? What kinds of things do they say? Yes! They are very encouraging and constantly asking when the next book in the series will be released.
As a child, what did you want to do when you grew up? I’ve always loved animals and really wanted to be a veterinarian. Until I found out they used needles.
Does writing energize or exhaust you? Creating new content energizes me while editing and revising can be very exhausting.
What was the best money you ever spent as a writer? Good editors!
Are you traditionally or self published? Or both? Do you feel there are advantages to one over the other? I’m self published, and I’m really glad I chose that route. I love that I have full control over the content of my books, and I also think it’s a huge plus to know all of the steps to publishing a book.
How many unpublished and half-finished books do you have? Five.
What do you have coming next?
I’m currently editing the second book in The Unforgettable Tales of Adeline Bigsby series. I hope to have it published next year.
