Taste Test: Great Value root beer verses A&W root beer

I like A&W root beer. Is it because there was and A&W restaurant a few blocks from my house when I was little complete with chili dogs and root beer floats? Is it because there’s no caffeine in A&W, allowing me to drink it any time I like? Or perhaps it’s the special treat of an A&W root beer float that no competitor can match?
