9th December - A Premature Arrival

No, it's not a baby, it's two Christmas Trees which were dropped off today! They will be going up on Friday and being decorated on Saturday. They smell amazing!
Christmas fruit is a big deal in this house, but unfortunately these ones were bad :( Solution: burn them and then the whole room smells of oranges!
The warmth of a real flame is so important at this time of year. Here in the Frozen North, the association of hearth and home is still very strongly felt... So we lit the other fire, too!
A blast from the past but with all the excitement of the future. This book has been with us for as long as I can remember.
And speaking of books...
I'm falling a little bit behind on previous years, but I'm finally writing my Christmas cards!
Munching on gingerbread biscuits!
Mummy has made a start on Christmas Breakfast - without doubt the best meal of the year! - Here we have the Cornish pasties.
And last for today is the airing of the Christmas pinny, which is resting on the pantry door between bakings. This was a gift for Mum from our German friends ♡
