An RMF FM journalist reported this on Monday A 23-year-old man was detained on suspicion of brutally beating a priest.

The incident took place on Sunday at the rectory in Szczytno in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. A witness reported the attack to the police.

According to his story, the man broke into the building and severely beat the priest. The 72-year-old parish priest has very serious injuries.

The unconscious priest was taken to hospital under medical care – said Tomasz Markowski, press secretary of the provincial police headquarters in Olsztyn, to RMF FM on Sunday.
