Tragic accident in Słupsk. A drunk twenty-year-old man drove into a group of people on the sidewalk

Everything happened around two o’clock in the morning from Saturday to Sunday in Nad Śluzami street in Słupsk. As stated by Staff Sergeant Amadeusz Galus from the Słupsk City Police Headquarters in an interview with tvn24.pl, the preliminary findings of the police officers sent to the scene show that the 20-year-old driver of the BMW lost control of the vehicle at a bend in the road and crashed into the railing separating the road from the sidewalk. The car then overturned, hitting six people who were walking on the sidewalk.

The 24-year-old died on the spot, the woman was in serious condition

A 24-year-old man died at the scene. The remaining injured were taken to hospital. The woman suffered the most serious injuries – her condition is serious.

– A breath test showed that the driver was under the influence of alcohol. He had almost two parts per million of alcohol in his breath. The man’s blood was also taken for further tests, said Sgt. ks Gallus.
