Rimig's Reading/Watching List: November 2024
I know I had a great idea for an opener for this, but now I can't remember what it is. :(
Oh, well. If I remember it, I'll write it down. Until then, let's take a look at what I'm consuming!
What I'm Reading!
Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins: After she and Peeta survived the 74th Hunger Games, Katniss finds herself unable return to the life she once knew thanks to her trauma and the social unrest now brewing across Panem. What's more, it seems President Snow has more plans involving Katniss that intend to stop a potential rebellion. But it might already be too late for that...or is it?
I'm reading every novel in The Hunger Games series and watching all the films in preparation for the newest novel, Sunrise on the Reaping! I hope it lives up to the hype!
Watership Down by Richard Adams: In southern England, a group of rabbits must leave their homes in search of a new place to live after humans destroy their old warren. In order to survive, they must traverse lands they've never braved before, and face the brutal tyrant General Woundwort.
What I'm Watching!
Avatar: The Last Airbender: After being frozen in an iceberg for a hundred years, Aang finds himself in a world burdened by war, with the tyrannical Fire Nation close to achieving world domination. Now Aang must master all four elements - water, earth fire, and air - to save the world.
Been a bit too long since I've last watched this iconic animated series! I hope I notice some new details I've never found before!
The Good Place: After being mistaken for someone else, Eleanor Shellstrop enters a Heaven-like afterlife dwelling place known as The Good Place. After learning that getting kicked out would mean eternal torture in The Bad Place, she resolves to become a better person with the help of her new friend, Chidi Anagonye.
My favorite YouTube channel, Cinema Therapy, is going to be covering this series soon! I can't wait for the stuff they put out!
What I'm playing!
Cave Story: After a robot wakes up in a cave with no memory of who he is, he comes across a village where small rabbit-like creatures, called Mimiga, run free. But before long, it becomes apparent that all is not well, as a cruel man known as The Doctor intends to abuse the Demon Crown for his own ends, including creating an army of deranged Mimiga to do his bidding.
Trying to get the best ending on this playthrough, but from what I've seen of the final level online, it looks like it might be the hardest level I've ever played in a video game...
