October 28, 2024: Bob’s Birthday Bash! The 13 Days of Halloween countdown continues with…The Substance!

Yesterday was Robert Picardo’s birthday.  We celebrated by joining Bob and his lovely wife, Elizabeth, at their beautiful Toronto apartment for dinner, drinks, and song.  Specifically, THIS song –

Note how Bob, tired of waiting for someone to start singing, had to get the ball rolling.

Dinner was delicious medley of dishes, from Bob’s trademark arugula pizza and spicy tuna rolls to grilled chicken and rice and squash-stuffed pasta with sage butter.  For dessert, we enjoyed a local favorite: Uncle Tetsu’s cheesecake (A true taste of home for Akemi).  We did a little wine, a little yuzu sake, and topped things off with some Averna amaro.

A great time was had by all, especially Sharky who ate his own dinner while we enjoyed ours.  He’s already looking forward to next year’s celebrations!
