Man arrested after three-week-old baby dies in horrific car crash | United Kingdom | News
A three-week-old baby has been killed in a tragic road crash – with a man arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
The tragedy happened on the A451 between Kidderminster and Stourport at around 00:09 on Saturday.
Wyre Forest Police said a black Ford Focus and a Suzuki Vitara were involved in the collision.
A three-week-old baby who was in the Suzuki sadly died at the scene. The other two occupants, a man and a woman in their 20s, required hospital treatment for injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
The driver of the other vehicle was uninjured in the collision.
Police have confirmed that a 39-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and is currently in police custody.
The force said officers are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or has CCTV footage from the time of the incident.
Inspector Steph Arrowsmith said: “A young boy has died tragically and our thoughts are with the baby’s parents and wider family at this incredibly distressing time.
“A man has been arrested as our inquiries continue and I would ask anyone who was on the A451 between Kidderminster and Stourport at the time of the collision to please contact us.”
