Vietcong Attack US Embassy in Saigon
In the early morning of 31 January 1968 a 19-man Viet Cong sapper team attempted to seize the US Embassy in Saigon. Although successfully penetrating the embassy compound, the VC were pinned down by security forces, with one lone survivor surrendering.
