Who Is The Real Claire Sheldon?
This week I’m joined on my blog by author Claire Sheldon. The fourth book in her Detective Jen Garner series will be available very soon. A Dead Lie is published on 24 October 2024 by Choc Lit Psychological thrillers, Suspense and Crime: A Joffe Books Company.

I asked Claire to answer the question – Who is the real Claire Sheldon?

My mum was from Thornton Heath and my dad is from Croydon. They moved to Long Eaton and couple of years before I was born.

I have a younger brother called Paul
who I mostly get on with.

I never enjoyed school but made it out alive in the end.

My mum and dad split up while I was in secondary school
and I didn’t cope with it very well.

When I was younger I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.

I started going to Rock City where my love of music developed.

Shortly after meeting my now husband I moved to Leeds to start University and study Events Management.

Plus six months in Haarlem, Netherlands.

On the way home Andrew asked me to marry him!

And soon after Alex and Melanie came along!

I love Jimmy Eat World.

But also a Swiftie.

Heavily influenced by The Bill and Spooks.

About Claire Sheldon

Claire lives in Nottingham with her family, and a dog called Podrick. Claire suffers from Multiple Sclerosis but that doesn’t stop her writing, releasing her Perfect Lie in 2020 with A Silent Child and A Burning Lie later following.
When Claire isn’t working, she enjoys reading crime novels and listening to music – the band Jimmy Eat World is her biggest muse! But she’s really Swiftie at heart. The inspiration for her novels comes from the hours spent watching The Bill with her grandparents and auntie; then later, Spooks and other detective programmes like Morse, A Touch of Frost and Midsummer Murders.
