The Power of Acceptance
Yesterday, I spent the first couple of hours working on my side company, developing new trainings and recording others.
When I went to write, however, the words wouldn't flow. It's rare that happens to me - for which I'm very grateful. But it did.
I was at a critical point in the book about Hallas, where he finally knows who he is. He needed to find out who his mentor was meant to be and where she was. And I was struggling with how to make that happen. I didn't want to make it easy. It had to come in a way that made sense.
Today, I figured it out. I figured out that, now that Hallas knows who he is, he tells someone else. And in telling someone else his truth, he is - for the first time - admitting to another human that he is a chosen one, meant to be part of the prophecy.
And so the prophecy "tells" him what he needs to know, by connecting him telepathically with his new mentor. Just long enough for Hallas to find out who she is and where she is.
He still has a long road to get there. And once he's there, has a long to fully accepting being a mage and not being afraid of his magic.
But his finding out what was next because he finally acknowledged his role made complete sense organically.
Whew.
