Can You Guess the Killer?
You may have noticed we’ve been very busy these last few months—but all for a good reason, I assure you. These last few weeks particularly have been dedicated to finalising a new novel that’s been in the making since 2022 (and earlier). From cover design and beta reading to last-minute editing and formatting, it’s been a wild journey. However, I am pleased to announce that Call Me Rumpel will be out November 10th.
The book will be available on Amazon and other retailers.
Better yet, you can opt to pre-order the e-book from Amazon for your Kindle and e-readers.
What’s more, ARC readers can sign-up to get a free e-book copy today with no obligation to review or promote. That’s right, no deadlines, no expectations, no catches. Whilst this opportunity has been available through social media, if anyone missed out on the opportunity, I will extend the sign-up form until the 25th October. Simply quote ‘IAMRUMPEL’ in the ‘Is there anything else you’d like me to know?’ section of the form (the last question).

I hope you enjoy my first attempt at a YA murder mystery. Whilst I’m hoping to focus on creating more proactive characters in future novels, as well as increasing my understanding of Gen Z culture (…even this wording makes me feel old lol), it’s a story I am proud to present to the world.
I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported me with this novel and my writing, including my amazing beta readers. Annabelle, Melinda, Hannah, Azriel, and S. E. Green have provided incredible suggestions that have made this story so much better. Without them, it wouldn’t be fit for reading. Thank you, too, to Dan Lyndon for not only being my editor, but for being patient, thorough, and believing in me as a writer.
For anyone wondering where the sequel to The Beaumont Egalitarian Society is, I’m afraid I’ve been a little distracted in getting it finished. I sincerely apologise for the wait, but do promise to have it ready in the next for months. To be completely transparent, however, I will also be working on two other YA novels during the next few months, plus a myriad of other ideas in the coming years. The problem with me is having too many plots and too little time. The good side of this? There’ll be plenty more adventures for you to get lost in!

Until next time,
~Rumpel.
Sorry, I mean, Jennifer.
What’s Call Me Rumpel about?Once upon a time in a country town in New South Wales, there lived a girl who would do anything to escape.
Queen bee of Kingstown High, seventeen-year-old Mishka Winscott knows all there is to keeping secrets. From hiding her father’s increasing mortgage debt to pretending she doesn’t care that her ex-boyfriend cheated on her, no one knows her life is anything but perfect. They certainly don’t know she’s behind the elusive Call Me Rumpelstiltskin app, where she grants her peers’ wishes for a little fee.
Unfortunately, she’s not the only one who can grant wishes.
After school bully Vincent Wu ruins yet another party, Mishka receives an anonymous request wishing he would die. Thinking it is nothing more than a peer venting over his cruel antics, his failure to turn up to school that week is perceived as welcome news. Finally, she can concentrate on getting into a good university and far away from her crumbling castle without being subjected to his torment.
It’s only when her precious app is hacked that she realises she must find his killer or risk losing more than just her social status.
This Young Adult modern murder mystery novel is inspired by the Brother Grimms’ classic fairy tale, Rumpelstiltskin. Full of twists and turns, readers will be left guessing Rumpel’s true name until the very end…
