They FINALLY updated the most misused Korean word | Korean FAQ

The ~요/이요 ending that everyone uses – including myself and every other Korean teacher – was actually grammatically WRONG until very recently. Yes, I’m talking about adding ~요/이요 to the end of a word in a sentence to make it more polite. This is actually originally an incorrect usage of a different verb, and it took a long time to be updated. It was finally updated because while it was wrong, everyone was using it this way.
