The context

On Wednesday, September 25, Jean-René Etchegaray, mayor of Bayonne, announced in a press release that the next Bayonne Festivals will be held from Wednesday, July 16 to Sunday, July 20, 2025, coinciding with the Festival de la Madeleine in Mont- of. -Marsan. The Landais denounced this decision and, since then, many have criticized this overlapping of dates.

Starting with the fairgrounds for whom these two weeks of celebrations represent a very important part of their income for the year. This summer they will not be able to be in both cities at the same time. To protest against this choice, the Federation of French Fairgrounds plans to blockade the city this Tuesday, October 8 and repeat its action on Saturday, October 19, the day of the Aviron Bayonnais match at the Jean-Dauger stadium.
