September 2024 Monthly Wrap-Up
September was a weird and, unfortunately, not-great month. My body was majorly struggling this month; I was very sick and spent many days hardly able to function. It was also a lot handling Windy’s care–she declined near the end of the month and is now on end-of-life care.

Work was also very slow (besides one dream client, although it ended up more admin-heavy than actual writing). Beyond those things, I did a lot with my church; started junk journaling/collage journaling; and went to a concert (Avery Anna). But there just didn’t seem to be much of my usual September magic floating around this year.

This month I’m…
Reading: The Fortune Seller and The Ballerinas, Rachel Kapelke-Dale. We Dream of Space, Erin Entrada Kelly. Outofshapeworthlessloser, Gracie Gold. The Break-Up Pact, Emma Lord. The Landscapes of Anne of Green Gables, Catherine Reid. Ravenfall, Kayln Josephson. Winterland, Rae Meadows. Poetry Unbound, Padraig O Tuama. The One and Only Ivan, Katherine Applegate. Wrath of the Triple Goddess, Rick Riordan. 11 total
Listening to: My September playlist. Avery Anna.

Watching: Movies–Prince of Egypt.

Writing: I did my usual volunteer work with my church and the Diamonds Conference; worked on my book some; and performed once (see two of the songs I did here and here). I also became obsessed with junk journaling/collage journaling, which I don’t know why I didn’t start doing sooner!

Grateful for: Windy sleeping in my lap so much. The glass jar aisle. Spontaneous performances with musician friends. Theology conversations with a friend from church. Pinterest. Insurance finally paying for my May admission. Doing client work that feels like it truly makes an impact. Painting 10 separate colors onto 10 little fingernails. Mac n cheese. The feeling of getting into clean sheets after taking an everything shower. Seeing Windy play with all of her toys at once. A car full of friends all weekend long. Apple pie lattes.
What did you do in September?
