What went into the preparation?

First, of course, I had to write the book. My faithful critique partners read it as I finished chapters. Once I hit ‘the end’, I gave it a little time and then printed the entire manuscript using my ‘fool the brain’ method. After making any changes I deemed necessary, I sent it to my editor.
