Some Stuff and Nonsense

Stuff I thought I’d mention:

Week one of the new NFL season was played yesterday.   The Giants had the Vikings at home, and looked just as bad as last year.   They made some good draft picks, I thought, adding a top receiver and bolstering the O-line, but it did not seem to make a whit of difference.   Daniel Jones did not impress at all.   Maybe we need to go back to Tommy DeVito. I fear I am not going to get much joy from Big Blue this year.   Maybe the Jets will be better.  They play tonight....

Yanik I always appreciated your openness and honesty in sharing your experiences, mindset and methods.
I hope someone has a recording of that speech, I too would like to hear it back.

Get a life, Heather. The world doesn't revolve around you wanting a new book.

I don't see a problem with getting impatient since a new book you've been looking forward to for ages STILL isn't here because the author would rather milk money. Keep this up and hardly anyone will care when it DOES come out; certainly, the hype'll have died.

What hype? Oh let me guess, you watched the series and now you want the books. The first book has been out since 1996. I've been reading George's work since 1998 and I will wait patiently for any new book. He doesn't owe us anything and I only feel gratitude for all the great books (and tv series) he has giving us. The world doesn't revolve around me. George can lead his life the way he wants.

Bro, this is Goodreads. You just told me to get a life after I made a comment that was clearly dripping with jest. I can't stop laughing at your outrage. Have a good day, Sir.

Hey, if it happens, it happens. I doubt any of us are actually expecting it now. I'd rather not listen to the rumor mill about Sanderson taking over the series when GRRM is still here. But that's the way of things and here we are.

I'd trust Sanderson more at this point. But it's okay, I preferred the series anyway. Most of it lol

I like Sanderson. He has a completely different style, voice, and feel than GRRM. If he expires or confesses that he has no intention of finishing (which I think we can all agree is more than likely), then he's probably one of the prime contenders.
